Your roof is the first line of defense for your home! now, lets get this out of the way fist. No inspector is “required” to walk on any roof surface. This is because it's inherently dangerous! The inspector is also not required to predict the service life expectancy of a roof system. It's impossible to predict, even for New Beginnings. Some inspectors may guess at the age of the roof-covering material, but guessing or estimating is not required by our Home Inspection Standards of Practice.
New Beginnings will inspect from ground level or the eaves: The roof-covering materials, gutters, downspouts, vents, flashing, skylights, chimney, and other roof penetrations. Our drone is deployed when possible to give an unprecedented view.
The description of your roof will include; The general structure of the roof (illustrated below), type of roof covering materials, and any indications of active roof leaks.
Inspector's don’t have a magic crystal ball but they do have years of experience and an extensive amount of knowledge, training and if your me, a really cool drone! Your asphalt roof has a very steep deterioration curve. Inspecting today can help lessen the impact of damage tomorrow.

This is my dad! He is obviously better at inspecting homes than writing blogs 😘! Love you dad and keep up the good work, we are all proud of you!!!!
